We gathered for AIGrrls at the Tabard Inn in Washington D.C. last week to focus on AI and personalization. How do we and how can we use deep learning to deliver data-driven experiences that are meaningful and relevant?
AIGrrls are civic tech leaders, data scientists, entrepreneurs, designers, academics and AI practitioners who meet once a month in the Washington D.C. region to share knowledge and network on the future of inclusive AI.
Those mixing it up this month included Coach Kathy Kemper, CEO and Founder of the Institute for Education (IFE); Professor Jane Wall, Director of Data Science Programs at American University; and Paula Davis Analytics and AI lead at Deloitte. Read more here.
I stand with Atossa.
Atossa, influential Achaemenid woman (550 BC to 475 BC) and daughter of Cyrus the Great. She is one the few women of antiquity who is not forgotten to history. Hellanicus praises Atossa for her handwritten letters and Herodotus says she was all-powerful. History records that the Greek physician, Democedes cured Atossa's breast cancer, making Atossa, a breast cancer survivor.
Her story needs to be preserved and protected. We are proud that AI Ambassador all over the world are spreading the mission of this crowdfunding campaign. Please join us in building culturally relevant datasets. Check out and support 'An Algorithm for Stories on Women’.

This time around we gathered for AIGrrls to focus on AI and personalization -- how are we / can we / use deep learning to deliver data-driven experiences that are meaningful and relevant? We each shared stories from our experiences and reveled in the beauty of the moment. Tonight was about the freedom to be who we are as we traverse and inform a new era of artificial intelligence with edge and empathy. Thanks to PinkLion.ai and Tentiat IT for sponsoring #AIGrrls. Our next Mixer is on December 17 in Washington D.C. RSVP here.
